Today saw invitations to two MacMillan Coffee Mornings, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The morning Coffee Morning took place on Hayling Island. For this one I was alone as Elaine was at a meeting.
Organised by Patricia White from Daisy Chain, a group that Elaine & I visited in August, this was attended by around 25 people and lasted for about 2 hours.
In the afternoon Elaine & I went to the Woodman Public House in Purbrook. Here the event had been going since opening time at 11 o’clock and was still going when we left at around 2.45.
As is to be expected at a pub, there were a large number of people there and the raffle, which had a large number of donated prizes, raised over £600!
At both of these Coffee Mornings there were a good number of cakes on offer and, of course, plenty of coffee (and tea if you preferred it).
Coffee Mornings are a good way to raise both funds and awareness, and can be guaranteed to be enjoyed by all.
