Friday 18/4/16 The Waterloo School

March 18, 2016

On a cold overcast day I joined the children of Waterloo School who have a lovely new modern play park to use.

Along with Bailee the head of the school council, I cut the ribbon to open the park to the excited children. After someone had set fire to the old wooden play park it was unusable so the new equipment is steel and hopefully will have a much longer life span.

15/3/16 Hayling Lions Club visit to Spektrek

March 15, 2016

This morning Andy and I were very interested to visit Spektrek at Appuldram with our friends from The Lions Club of Hayling Island.

The centre organised by the Chichester Lions sorts and packages  around 1,000000 pairs of spectacles a year. Lions clubs throughout the UK send their glasses to Chichester where volunteers then sort them before sending them onto a charity in France. When they reach France the glasses are checked for power and then sent to French Colonies throughout Africa,

The boxes and boxes awaiting sorting made the four pairs of glasses we took with us seem very insignificant.

Monday 14/3/16 The Rock Challenge 2016

March 14, 2016

Tonight we went to the Portsmouth Guildhall to support Park Community School in the 2016 Rock Challenge.

We thought the Bollywood part of their routine was the best of the night.
