This evening we had the pleasure of introducing the 1st UK Kitesurfing Industry Awards at the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada.

What a great crowd of people. It was such a shame that although 450 people arrived to break the world record, there wasn’t enough wind to make an attempt. They were having a great time anyway though. Hopefully they will all be back next year to try again.

Saturday 17/10/15. Hayling Billy Heritage Project

October 17, 2015

Our second visit of today was to the re-opening of the newly restored Hayling Billy Railway Signal.

After a project involving Hayling’s Best, the Borough and County Councils, supported by the Heritage Lottery, the ribbon to the Signal was cut by me this afternoon. What a lovely reminder of the history of the old Hayling Billy running from Havant to Hayling, the signal will be.

Saturday 17/10/15 Support4SEND

October 17, 2015

Our first invitation today was to the Horndean Technology College, where there was a Special Needs Information Day.

We visited many of the stalls, manned by both volunteers and professionals. It would be unfair to pick out the ones we liked the most, we were just overwhelmed by the quality of the help on offer to those Special Children with their Special Needs.

Many of the organisations were based in the Havant Borough and we were delighted to meet them.
