Sunday 11/10/15 Service of Thanksgiving for the Freemasons

In the evening, we attended the reception and Service of Thanksgiving for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Attended again by Civic Heads from across Hampshire.

The local lodges of the Freemasons attended our V.J. Service in August this year, and always attend our Holocaust Memorial Day Services. The Freemasons were among those persecuted by Nazi Germany in WW2.

The service was less formal, I much enjoyed singing a hymn to the tune of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” My favourite version being the one by Elvis Presley.

Sunday 11/10/15 Law Sunday

The first service Andy and I attended was Law Sunday, invited by Lady Louisa Portal The High Sheriff, and attended by Judges, Magistrates and Civic Heads from across Hampshire and the Channel Islands.

We particularly enjoyed the processions, the robes and wigs were spectacular. The service was traditional and moving.
