Kids Out Rotary trip to Paulton’s Park

June 19, 2014

On Wednesday 11 June, I was invited to wave off the children from Glenwood School, Emsworth on their annual trip to Paulton’s Park organised by Havant Rotary.  I was accompanied by Cllr Hilary Farrow; it was a delight to see the excitement on the Year 7 children’s faces as they waited to set off.  The year 13 youngsters came to wave them off as well and it was hard for them to realise that only a few years before they would have been setting off on their trip.  One of the older students asked why they couldn’t have two coaches so that the older children could go as well!

9th Waterlooville Music Festival and Party Night – Out of the Shadows

June 19, 2014

The 9th Waterlooville Music Festival commenced on Saturday 14th June.  I  attended  an evening of 60’s music and dance staged by Out of the Shadows in St George’s Church, Waterlooville.  It was great fun and the band were spot on with their interpretation of the 60’s bands and sounded just like the original artists.   Wow did it take me back!  The evening was made all the more special for me, as it was my birthday and to my surprise Father Mike Sheffield presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers!    The occasion  was an ideal opportunity to meet and chat with many of the public supporting and enjoying the concert.

Business in the Community (BITC) Networking Event at Langstone Technology Park

June 19, 2014

On Thursday 12 June I attended a Business in the Community (BITC) networking event at Langstone Technology Park.  Unfortunately I was only able to stay for a short while, but I was extremely warmly welcomed by Gary Medlow and other colleagues. In the short time I was there I gained a good insight into the work and organisation done by ‘Business in the community’ (BITC). I took the opportunity to stress that Havant is always open for Business!
