On this really hot and sunny day we were invited by Dame Mary Fagan, the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, to attend the New Forest Show, and to have lunch in the company of about 150 people, and in the presence of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth and His Royal Highness, Prince Philip.
We met other Mayors and Chairmen at the New Park Manor Hotel, and then walked through the very busy Show to the Restaurant marquee.
Her Majesty the Queen
The Queen arrived from the Isle of Wight by helicopter for what was her third appointment of the day.
Before she arrived, music was played by a string trio and, during lunch, background music was played on a harp.
Queen Elizabeth looked around the showground after lunch, before leaving for yet another engagement, this time in London.
