Today saw the Annual Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance for the D-Day and Normandy Fellowship held at the Portsmouth Cathedral in Old Portsmouth.
There were a number of veterans of the D-Day landings and the battles on the Normandy beaches, but, as the years go by, the numbers are diminishing all the time.
The Service was led by the Dean of Portsmouth, the Very Reverend David Brindley, with readings by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Frank Jonas and Vice-Admiral Sir Geoffrey Dalton, the President of the D-Day & Normandy Fellowship.
