Today Elaine & I visited the St. John Ambulance Brigade HQ in Bedhampton and were greeted by harry Dymond, the Area President and Pamela Fitzgerald, the Divisional Superintendent and Area Co-ordinator.
We were there for a Diamond Jubilee themed Coffee Morning put on by the Community Support Unit for their bathing service clients and their carers. The clients are elderly people who are unable to bathe themselves and the service gives them the opportunity to have regular baths in a special bath with a hoist.
Among the people there was 100 year old Connie Garroway. Connie was visited by the last Mayor, Ken Smith, on the occasion of her birthday at the end of April.
Their was a Tombola and a Raffle with a great many prizes, which I was invited to draw.
