Today saw the Mayor Making ceremony at Gosport where Councillor Richard Dickson assumed the mantle for the next municipal year. Before and during the ceremony we were treated to some excellent music from the Gosport Silver Band. The various parts of the proceedings were introduced by the ringing of the bell taken from HM Submarine Truant.
This was the last Mayor Making ceremony of the four “Harbour Mayors”, these being Havant, Fareham, Portsmouth and Gosport.
