This evening Hazel and I were invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Havant & Waterlooville Child Contact Centres, held at the United Reformed Church in Havant.
As you may already be aware, these two centres are run by committed, caring and impartial volunteers who provide a safe and friendly facility for children from broken families to meet and spend time with their absent parent.
Whenever circumstances permit, it is recognised by professionals to be beneficial for children to have regular contact with their non-resident parent, to ease some of their worries and anxieties, to assist their adjustment to their new lifestyle.
These two Child Contact Centres within Havant borough provide a neutral, relaxed, safe and comfortable venue where local children can meet up with the parent they no longer live with.
After the formalities of the AGM were completed this evening, we enjoyed chatting with the audience members while drinking tea/coffee – thank you for your hospitality and your diligence offered to our local children/families.
